Relocations - a case study!
Relocations received a phone call from a Mrs Huxley who was hoping to move home in one month's time. In the first instance a representative of Relocations booked a suitable time to go round to the home of Mrs Huxley to carry out a survey of the household items that were required to be relocated and of course to offer any advice and guidance associated with the move.
The Survey and Quotation
Our quotations are based on the volume of goods to be moved and include many external factors such as access to both properties, travelling time, labour and vehicle requirements, packing and storage options, every move is individual and we are proud of our professional and meticulous approach to household relocations .
As our experienced team do this every day we will always answer any questions you may have and discuss all of your moving requirements and options with you during the survey.
After the survey we will send you a written quotation. This is of course all absolutely free! Our quotation was accepted and Relocations confirmed with Mrs Huxley a moving date and in this instance the move was based on a local removal in which we would:
• Monday - Collect all non-essential items and store overnight.
• Tuesday – Collect all essential goods that were left for the last night (beds etc).
Then meet at the new residence to commence delivery after the customer's court meeting that morning.
Included within the quote was the agreement that Relocations would dismantle and reassemble any furniture that was required to be for access purposes and it was agreed that Mrs Huxley would pack the boxes herself prior to moving day. (In every move, unless asked otherwise, Relocations supply all packing materials prior to the move at no extra cost).

Preparation for the move
On this occasion our client was happy to pack the goods herself. We delivered the packing materials early so as to allow Mrs Huxley sufficient time to pack. On a couple of occasions Mrs Huxley rang her contact at Relocations asking for more materials and some tips on packing, advice was provided happily over the phone and the additional packing were promptly delivered.
Just one week prior to the move Mrs Huxley rang to inform us of some contractual problems with the new home and expressed some anxiety at the thought of being stuck 'in limbo' for a matter of weeks. These kinds of circumstances can arise and we realise that it can seem like a nightmare to our customers but the experienced team at Relocations have dealt with these situations many times!
On this occasion Mrs Huxley was to stay with family whilst the sale of her home went through and she worked on concluding the contractual problems.
Meanwhile Mrs Huxley's contact at Relocations arranged a suitable storage solution for all her household effects during this period and collected all items on the stated Monday and then amended the moving timetable to suit the situation thus taking some of the strain off Mrs Huxley and allowing her to concentrate on other matters during a difficult time. |

New Home
The goods stayed in storage for a number of weeks until Mrs Huxley rang her contact at Relocations to confirm that everything regarding her new home was in order. Relocations promptly re-assigned a new timetable for delivery of her household effects.
Once a delivery date was confirmed Relocations took Mrs Huxley's household effects out of storage and delivered them to her new residence. After the move Mrs Huxley un-packed the boxes at her own pace and when ready the boxes and packing were collected by Relocations for recycling and allowing the customer to enjoy her new home. |
